Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert and Fireworks
This July 4th, beloved convenience store chain Wawa will be holding a free July 4th concert at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Fairmount Part at 7 pm. The concert will feature American singer Bebe Rexha, Flo Rida, and will include performances by the Philly POPS orchestra.
Following the Wawa Welcome America concert, the fireworks portion of the event will begin above the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 9:30 pm. Those who wish to see the spectacular display are encouraged to arrive early at Eakins Oval to secure seating. The fireworks will also be shown live on local news station NBC 10.
Starting on June 19th, Philadelphians will be able to enter for a chance to win free tickets to the concert on the Wawa Welcome America website or through Wawa Welcome America’s social media accounts.
Freedom-Liberty Celebrations at the African American Museum in Philadelphia
This July 4th season, Philadelphia’s popular African American Museum will be presenting a special program featuring historical re-enactors portraying African American figures on June 26th and July 3rd. Visitors will meet at the nearby Franklin Square and walk with re-enactors through the Old City neighborhood, where they will learn about notable African American historical leaders and interpret important speeches from history. Afterward, guests can participate in a creative workshop led by renowned artist and cultural educator Jihan Thomas.
