You’d have to be there to believe it, but the corner of 9th Street and Passyunk Avenue may as well be Philly’s own Times Square on a summer Saturday night or fall Sunday afternoon following an Eagles win. With bright neon lights, crawling car traffic and plenty of hungry pedestrians, this is the place to be when you’re in South Philly and looking for lunch, dinner or the best way in the city to satisfy that craving for the best Philly cheesesteaks.
Here at Geno’s, we serve a lot customers and we enjoy doing so; just stop by and taste our namesake item and friendly customer service to see it for yourself. However, when we heard that July is National Cell Phone Courtesy Month, we couldn’t help but want to learn more about this special occasion that’s observed annually. Let’s face it: a little cell phone courtesy can go a long way — well beyond the line that sometimes wraps around our shop. With cell phone courtesy in mind, we’re offering up a few other tips that can speed things along here at Geno’s. This way, the wait times — which somehow always look the longest when you’re at your hungriest — will have you at the counter ordering a “whiz with” in no time.
On Hold: If you’re in line at Geno’s and about to grab one of the best Philly cheesesteaks, take a look at our production process. It’s easy to do because of the large glass windows our shop boasts. While you watch our workers prepare orders, all you have to do is put your phone in your purse or pocket and get ready to state your order to our employees. After that, you’re free to pull your phone back out and snap a photo of your delicious sandwich! Let’s all give it a try this July as part of National Cell Phone Courtesy Month!
Orderly Orders: The sheer demand for the best Philly cheesesteaks can lead to a rather confusing procession. As stated above, we serve a lot of customers on a daily basis and we’ll never turn you away. Making sure to following proper line-waiting protocol means not jumping spots or cutting in line. We’ll get to each and every one of you; all we ask is for an orderly line so the order-taking and delivery process on our end goes a bit smoother.
On The Menu: At Geno’s, we pride ourselves in cooking and serving the best Philly cheesesteaks. For some customers, it could be their first time coming to Geno’s so we’d like to offer the following tidbits of advice. For starters, check out our April 2018 blog post about the right way to order a Philly cheesesteak so all your “whiz” and “with or without” questions can be answered. Second, our offerings are straight-forward and first-class: rib-eye steak, fresh onions, straight-from-the-oven bread and cheese. With this knowledge, you’ll know what you can (and can’t) get on a cheesesteak and Geno’s – all without having to pull out your phone and pull up our menu just before ordering.
